About Karen R. Power
My diverse background in business, marketing, curriculum development, website design, coaching, webinar production, and graphic design gives me a real edge in assisting communicators and entrepreneurs.
I have worked with thousands of speakers, authors, and event planners across the country as speaker services manager and then owner of a speaker bureau for 16 years. I have been providing technology support and promotional services since 1994 to speakers, authors, entrepreneurs, and business leaders. My passion and purpose are to help communicators and business owners share their messages and products by creating innovative solutions. I have helped them connect with their audience, grow their platform base, find new speaking opportunities, raise the bar, and increase their customers, paid enrollees, products and book sales by using various delivery methods and strategies.
I started at the age of 11 as a drummer and later as a bass guitar player in local and regional music bands. I have been on virtually every side of events and the stage as a musician, songwriter, speaker, author, event planner, concert promoter, coach, book tour manager, speaker bureau owner, and booking agent.
My expertise in the areas of marketing, technology, and curriculum development helped me work with clients in the development and launch of a national parents support group and network, development and production of hundreds of online live webinars, design of websites, promotional materials, logos, book covers, print and digital books, social media marketing, and more.
I started Power Communications in 1994 developing promotional materials and websites for small businesses.
In November 2004, Classervices, Inc. hired me to as Speaker Services Manager where I booked speakers such as Florence Littauer, Lauren Littauer Briggs, Ann Downing, Sandra P. Aldrich, and others. I served as faculty for their speaker and writer conference in Gorieta, NM (2005-2006).
In January 2007, I started my own speaker bureau agency representing speakers such as Thelma Wells, Darryl Strawberry, Kathi Macias, Cecil Murphey, Michele Pillar, and others. I also provided coaching, training, website development, graphic design, and special projects to these speakers and authors to help them reach their broader audience.
I managed virtual book launch tours for eight years for New York Times best-selling and top authors such as: Francine Rivers, Cecil Murphey, Carol Kent, Thelma Wells, Kathi Macias, and more. I have served as faculty for writers conferences in the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area (2008-2011), Ann Downing’s Middle Tennessee Women’s Retreat (2009), and Personality Principles’ Advanced Personality Trainers Conference (2007).
While my focus has been on helping speakers and authors take their messages to the world, I have written several stories that appeared in the following books: Your Spiritual Personality by Marita Littauer, Making the Blue Plate Special by Florence Littauer, Marita Littauer, and Lauren Littauer Briggs, and The Authentic You by Anita C. Lee. I have also written many instructional books and programs specifically for the professional development of speakers and authors.
