I was sharing with a friend recently about the call of God on my life and the purpose of my business/ministry. Some people call it their life plan, vision or destiny. I’ve known since I was 11 years old playing drums in a local gospel music band that in some capacity I wanted to help people share their messages with the world to advance the Kingdom of God. Through the years, I’ve used different words to best describe that vision. It’s taken shape through various activities on both a personal and professional level. Along the way, the core essence of that call on my life has been the same. With each step in my journey, there were defining moments that helped shape and clarify what that purpose looked like and how it manifested for each season.
I heard this in today's sermon and have paraphrased ... where do you see your message/ministry going? Is it to specific places, people, communities, or countries? What should you do to get it there?
I do my best thinking either standing in the shower or standing at the sink washing dishes. Maybe it has something to do with water.
Today, I began thinking back on conversations I've had with friends, co-workers, speakers, authors, etc. as they got excited about something they wanted to do. Maybe it was start a class, do a video, or write an article or book. What've I've consistently noticed is there's a difference among those who do and those who don't complete what was discussed.
When Jesus left this earthly realm, he gave a command to his followers. As a Christian, we are His followers and this command is for us. God made it so simple. There’s only four clearly spelled out parts to this directive. Yet, we make it so complicated and then don’t do it.
Did you know the daily activities you do as a speaker (or writer) directly affect the harvest in speaking inquiries (or book sales)? As a Speaker (this applies to Writers too), every activity you do to build your business/ministry, connect with your audience, and develop products, programs, and promotional materials is the same as sowing seeds for the result of getting booked speaking events.
I've been helping Christian-minded communicators (speakers, authors, artists, etc.) and business owners share their products, programs, events, and reach their audiences around the world since 1994.
